Ocean skills Safety Training: Swimming, Surfing, skin diving, scuba diving, fishing & more This safety program covers essential skills such as reading the ocean, buoyancy control, proper equipment usage, and emergency and safety procedures. This training ensures that you can enjoy the water world with confidence.

  2. Local Marine Life: Before diving in, familiarize yourself with the various species that inhabit the waters around Okinawa. This knowledge not only enhances your experience but also helps you avoid potentially dangerous creatures.

  3. Learn About Tide Patterns: Understanding the ebb and flow of tides is crucial for safety. Participate in a local workshop or guided tour that explains how tides affect ocean currents and lagoons in Okinawa.

  4. Environmental Awareness Sessions: Participate in educational programs focused on marine conservation. These sessions often include information on coral reef protection, responsible tourism practices, and the importance of preserving marine ecosystems.

  5. Coastal Safety Tips: Pay attention to water conditions. Learn how to identify rip currents and what to do if you find yourself caught in one. Always swim with a buddy and stay within swimming limitations.

  5. Underwater Skills. Focus on in water troubleshooting, trim and finning techniques for efficient movement underwater.

While many can achieve an open water license and dive independently, retaining all that knowledge can be challenging, with a significant portion often forgotten. Through a reef tours program, students dive alongside instructors, allowing them to learn and adapt to the underwater environment effectively. Repetition and education are essential in nurturing skilled divers and fostering a deeper appreciation for marine life.
